I think you need to look at syslinux.cfg on a boot floppy or CD.
I have set up a boot floppy for my P-150 w/32mb of ram so it starts up with the proper xmodule, screen resolution, and normal vga mode by adding the cheatcode to the startup append line.
Any kernel parameter that can be passed thru lilo in an append line can be used.
