http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/ this is not full Live Windows, as Knoppix. Such thing doesn't exists.
I know it exists i've seen it ran. Unfortunately the guy I know had it no longer works with me. Anyone know who distributes the WindowsXP LIVE CD or the program to make it?

tdjokic is right about the pebuilder. It can be used to create a LiveCD for Windows. The problem is the licensing. It requires you to purchase another license for WindowsXP to be completely legal. Obviously the LiveCD is not Free or Open Source software and it can not be distributed.Originally Posted by spanspace
I too have seen a LiveCD with full Windows XP and even had Windows 2003 on it too. It is completly illegal.
You need the "XPE Plugin" for Bart's WinPE builder. This allows you to run a real XP desktop from Live CD.
You will need a lot of RAM though since everything is copied to ramdisk.

Get it from http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...kage_id=140740
The latest edition (18/05) of the German computer magazine c't has an article on it. There is also a froum on http://www.heise.de/ct/ftp/projekte/pebuilder/

I think this topic is quite old, but i want to share this website, http://www.ubcd4win.com and this one puts in great stuff for the BartPE. it has lots of stuff to recover your windows partition and it has a utility to read linux partitions. more info in the website.

A Live CD is a CD-Rom or a DVD-Rom with an operating system that can be executed from a bootable cd-rom or dvd-rom drive, without having to be installed in a hard drive.
The system can return to its previous operating system when the computer is rebooted without the LiveCD.

CytoTech has the right of it. the UBCD4Win is very slick and polished.
It is scripts and code that use BartPE to burn a utility disk.
It will network into domains and workgroups and routinely deal with anything on the hard drives. I have had some minor problems using the network for long/large backups to a server from a client with small memory but it is sweet.
