ok well my school is giving all students laptops for the year. but they block evrything and hide the hard drive so i cant make it to boot directly from cd. they also blocked command prompt. If anyone knows of another way to get to it?

I happen to think it's an insane idea to give a bunch of students laptops, but, that issue asside, is it even legal for you to circumvent the protections (however poor) the owners of the computer have put in place on it? There had been a recent story in the news of similar students in Pennsylvania who recently "defeated" a poorly thought out protection system and are now being legally charged with crimes.Originally Posted by VampJoe
