    Jam no toast yet

Well, there must be something about the LG CDRW. I found a firmware u/g for it...no have a floppy. Can't find out why it needs upgrade, but it does say it is xp related. And I'm dotnet server 2003 enterprise edition rc2 (1 yr free license) which is xp server. Anyway, I am going to just burn it at work Monday and see how that goes.

    Cheetah CD Burning Software

You can download the free Cheetah CD Burning software at

    http://download.com.com/3000-2646-10...ml?tag=lst-0-1

Then install it, open it, and click on write --> burn image from iso file. Select the knoppix iso file and then hit "OK". In a few minutes your burn will be complete. Restart your computer with the CD in the drive and you should have knoppix up and running soon.

I downloaded and tried cheetah and it was too easy. Thanks Jason.
When I try to boot knoppix It says "error, only one processor found" then locks up. (I have a p4 800fsb but intel 845 chipset does not support 800 fsb, but w2k doesn't have a problem)

    Any help?

Also is there a way to let knoppix see/read/write ntfs files?

    thanks

    Try ' knoppix nosmp '

--As far as ntfs, no - not right now. Blame MS. And use FAT32 wherever possible.

    Hey Everyone,

I have a question, im currently trying to burn an iso image onto a cd....i read some forum and appearently Nero is a better software to use than the one im trying now(B's Recorder)..so i downloaded a free trial version of Nero 8, will this work? or does it have to be Nero BurningRom? Im not sure if there is a difference but if anyone can help me i appriciate it..thank you!

I have not used Nero 8 (actually never used Nero 7 either) but it certainly should work, all previous versions would burn the ISO file with the trial version. Just be sure that you know how to burn it as an image, don't just put a copy of an ISO file onto a disc, or try to extract anything from the ISO file, or select any option to make the disc bootable. See the downloading FAQ for details on where the option is hidden in Nero 6, it is likely in the same place or at least close. And confirm the md5 sum first and burn at a slow speed (this is really important).

Verifying of md5 checksum and burning a CD at slow speed are important.

Hey ninoPinoLove. I saw your request for help. There actually are 2 earlier references that are simple and work perfectly without your having to have much knowledge about the ins and out. The references in this thread are from goba and electronicjason.

Also, another very easy ISO writer I found is teraByte's software. Its burns CDs and DVDs. ===> http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/downloads/burncdcc.zip Simple, fast, easy to use, and no knowledge necessary. ....Enjoy
