OK The PPP Setup won't detect a network card and asks me to specify drivers, and LiSa doesn't find anything either, and asks for me to give the IP address of the device.
Can't get any network or internet.. running ASAS/TeK Broadcom 440x 10/100 integrated, and a netgear router ( don't recommend them). I'm a linux noob... i hope it's an easy fix
Thanks all,

IIRC this NIC chip is not supported or not supported very well in linux.Broadcom 440x

Rather than reveling in the fact that Rock wasn't spot on for once you could do everyone with a Broadcom integrated NIC a favor by letting the developers know via the mailing list here:Originally Posted by Anonymous

I wasn't aware of this mailing list.. anyway I let the whole Knoppix community know this matter some day ago (see my thread "Broadcom NIC module not included" on Hardware forum).Originally Posted by rickenbacherus
Posting here is also a possibility. I suspect it's more likely to be seen by the developers (who do not read every single one of the tons of posts show up on this forum). But the mailing list is perhaps the best idea since this might not technically be considered a bug.
If anyone has a working ISO of Knoppix that recognizes broadcom nic's please let us know. It works fine on a desktop box with a 10/100 standard nic but not on my laptop with broadcom.
I also found another NIC that it won't support. an OvisLink ISA 10 Megabit network card.. may have to try my linksys...
The aforementioned OvisLink card is recognized by Win 98 and WinLinux 2000, though..
To the above stated problem grab the drivers right here and enjoy
