Access files from linux in Win

Long story short. i have a HDD that used to be running ubuntu linux. The computer crashed so now i have the HDD in an external case, but i cannot access or even see the files on my windows laptop. I run Knoppix, and can access the files off the HDD that i want. I made a partion in windows in FAT32 thinking i could save the data in knoppix and then access it in windows...
Problem is it says i dont have permission. Properties say it is writeable and i have access, but when i goto drag something into the window it wont let me?
If this has already been answer i appologise for the redundance

http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Using_FAQ Q3 should answer the question.

The answer to the problem is Explore2fs
It's a Windows app designed to let you read from Linux ext2 and ext3 partitions, and copy that data to a Windows partition.

There is something new and better. With this driver Windows can read-write linux partitions as if it were fat32, much like linux can access fat32 partitions.

    http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/linux/ext2ifs.htm

    What is EXT2IFS?
EXT2IFS is an Installable File System Driver (IFS) for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, Microsoft Windows 2000 (NT 5.0) and Microsoft Windows XP (NT 5.1).

The driver can read the Second Extended File System (EXT2) and Third Extended
    File System (EXT3)

    Why would I want EXT2IFS?
If you have a PC which can dual boot both Linux and NT then this driver may be of some use. By installing the driver you will be able to read files off your Linux filesystems using all the standard methods you use to access NTFS and FAT filesystems. That means you can use Explorer, cmd.exe and any other application to copy and read the files.
