Dunno about using vmware but mkboot as root in a term should get you a boot floppy.
Hello Knoppix gurus,
I have installed Knoppix 32 on a VMWARE virtual machine for learning Linux without interferance of other Operating Systems.
The only OS is Knoppix - no dual boots with other OS whatsoever.
The HD-Install went fine and during the install I selected not to create a boot floppy.
I've customized the environment and rebooted from HD : all OK and it all works fine.
Now, I want to create a "rescue floppy disk" to boot from just in case the HD boot process goes wrong.
In VMWARE one can use a "virtual floppy drive", ie. a flp-file.
My question is : what are the steps to execute to create such a bootable floppy disk under Knoppix?
Dunno about using vmware but mkboot as root in a term should get you a boot floppy.
Thank you rickenbacherus for your reply.
You're absolutely right : mkboot did the trick.
Thanks again.
