I have a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy card installed on my computer.
This computer runs WIndows XP, and sound works just fine
(have a set of Creative 5.1 speakers to go with it)
however, when I put in a knoppix CD/DVD, NO sound???
it detects the sound card exists, emu10k or whatever,
but, no sound...
and when I try to use the "detect sound card" thingy,
it comes up with a message saying something like
"the kernel module for sound wasn't installed, or you need to use kernel 2.2 or later"
whatever all that means...
any ideas?? because I have NEVER gotten sound to work in Linux, ever!!
I have a sound blaster LIVE on another computer, same problem
any ideas at all on this one?
It detects the sound card, either won't use it or no sound is coming from it, I don't know,
all I know is it works just fine in windows, its just when I boot from a knoppix CD/DVD.
