This is almost exactly what the "Original" poster had found. If anyone had bothered to follow the link that he provided and read the information, one would have found that it was a "HARDWARE/BIOS" issue concerning insufficient video memory and NOT really an issue with Knoppix. The current version of Knoppix does appear to require more than 1Meg of Video Ram to run KDE at over 640X480 resolution. Other distros may indeed work with 1 Meg of Video Ram, but why complain about a simple adjustment in the bios and start blaming the operating system. Windows XP does not do too well with 1Meg of V Ram either and I just can't wait to see how well "Vista" would do with it. That does not mean that I would blame those operating systems either. It does mean that older hardware will eventually become obsolete when trying to upgrade the operating system to something newer that is intended for a more robust system.Originally Posted by Danosuke
