Cannot boot my Gateway Solo 2500 Laptop

I am using Knoppix 4.0.2-CD and I receive the error message as follows:

Loading linux...............................isolinux: Disk error 01, ax = 4227, drive 9F

I'm not sure what the relation to the Award Bios is, but if you have a similar bios as the poster did in the above thread, you might wish to look at their solution.

Other than that, I would otherwise suspect a media or file corruption issue. Possibly a corrupt disc, iso file, or a drive-media mis-match. I would look at the documentation link if you are unceratain:http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Downloading_FAQ Be sure to look over the entire article and pay close attention to the item about burning the disc at a slow speed. It does seem to make a difference with many drives.

Are you able to get to the start up splashscreen prompt (boot:_), or does it halt before that?
