Looking Glass (LG3D) Installer on KNOPPIX 4.0.2 UNIONFS

We made Looking Glass (LG3D) Live-Installer on KNOPPIX 4.0.2 using stable UNIONFS.

LG3D requires a video card which supports OpenGL. So the installer is effective on a machine which has nVIDIA GeForce card.
We exhibit the KNOPPIX with LG3D at JavaOne Tokyo. We could show it to LG3D developers.

Hi ..

I downloaded the 7 files ... ran the setup.. setup all packages successfully
but nothing opened.. !!

i tried to start the lg3d manually..but i failed..

here is what i saw and did ::

change vt to 1 // last line, typed by the installer
#sh /etc/init.d/lg3d start // i tried manually
/etc/init.d/lg3d: /opt/lg3d/bin/lg3d-session: /bin/tcsh: bad interpreter: No such file or directory

this is the error that i had ..!!

please help

mr Suzaki..

the script you wrote installs everything except the TCSH ..
the script doesnt even search for the file (i have downloaded it)

this is the problem.. please reveise the code..

i am waiting for your newer version.. thanks a lot..

i installed tcsh manually before running ur 'live-installer'
when i ran the installer afterwards..it worked as usuall, but
the lg3d crashed while starting.. giving a black screen with a blinking
cursor at the upper left corner.. !

Hello, Tarekeldeeb.

Does your machine has GeForce Video Card? Could you succeed installing the driver?
Looking-Glass-Live-Installer is sensitive for peripherals. Please check.

I succeeded installing on the following machines.
Desktop PC: Sun Ultra20 (AMD Opteron152 2.6GHz, Quadro FX1400, 2GB Memory)
Note PC: Toshiba Dynabook G8 (Intel Pentium 4 2.5GHz, GeForce FX Go5600, 1GB Memory)
Note PC: Toshiba Dynabook LX/290 (Intel PentiumM 740 1.73GHz, GeForce Go 6200 TE, 1.5GB Memory)

yes..i have a geForce..
and i succeeded in installing the driver..just as u said..

just before the blank screen comes..it writessomething like.disabling XOrg ..bla..bla bla..

i dont know what is XOrg..

is it related to the graphics card driver??
or maybe the AMD64 processor makes errors with such threads??

i really dont know..??

Please tell me your machine environment. Which type of GeForce do you use?
Which type of AMD64 do you use? How much memory does your machine have?

Could you confirm the driver of GeForce is installed? If the driver is installed, you find the nVIDIA tread mark.

I guess AMD64 will not cause problem, because our SUN Ultra 20 (AMD Opteron 152) does work well.

I have::
AMD Athlon 64 2800+ Socket 754
with 512 KB in level2 cashe
MB: MSI k8T
Ram : 512
GPU: GeForce4 MX 4000 with 128 RAM

Confirmation:: YES !! I install the nvidia driver ..and the logo appears !!

NOTES::
1- I have to install the " TCSH_6.14.00-2" manually..as a debian package (your installer dos not do it)
2-When i try to start the lg3d "it types that XOrg is disabled"..then the pc freezes

also in ur installation wizard..

1 of ur steps,u wrote::

Install tcsh
Setup for tcsh. hit [Enter] for continue, 'q' for quit: [Enter]
Unpacking & Installing.


this step does not exist at all.. !!! even i have the files u required.. !
I make it manually..
