[SOLVED] cp: cannot stat `/KNOPPIX/.bash_profile´: no such.

Hi,

I'm remastering DSL, a derivative from Knoppix, following the Knoppix Remastering Howto.

I have done all right, but when the LiveCD is loading, it says:

cp: cannot stat `/KNOPPIX/.bash_profile´: no such file or directory

Do you know how can I solve it?

Users can use the .bash_profile and .bashrc file to set up for their bash shell various functions such as the prompt, and path. Google ".bash_profile" for more information.

That being said, if don't need any customisation, simply touch the file in your remaster, from the error you are receiving it appears to be looking for it in the root directory of your remaster.

touch .bash_profile

I'm not entirely familiar with DSL but I do know it is not a pure Knoppix derivative in that it has a large percentage of RedHat packages as well.

As you suggested, in the KNOPPIX compressed filesystem there was a file called .bash_profile in the root. Simply I copy it to my remastered edition, and all works!
