Hi probono;
Just a bit of feedback. Apparently SimplyMepis 3.3.1 , kernel 2.6.11.6, really doesen't like klik. A reboot wipes out /tmp/apps/ (even though only root has the right to delete it) and removes all the crampfs entries from /etc/fstab. So that looks like a dead issue, barring some major surgery, which doesn't seem warranted.
On the positive side, klik has been very useful with AGNULA demudi 1.2.1. This distro seems to work on a delicate balance of dependencies. As a result, in order to install some packages, synaptic offers to remove 50 or more existing packages. Here klik has been very useful, allowing the new package to keep its dependencies to itself.
I have no great discoveries to share, but I do appreciate the good work.
Regards,
hotrodg.
