It is very possible that Knoppix is setting a resolution & monitor refresh rate that is beyond the capabilities of your PC's hardware. Try using other cheatcodes:
knoppix screen=1024x768 xvrefresh=75
knoppix screen=800x600 xvrefresh=60
When booting knoppix, it boots fine until it gets to where X is loaded, then does "starting x windows system.. unloading unneeded agp.." and then gives me an error about modprobe not being able to load, i believe, sound_card_1 or something like that, when watching the screen x is supposed to load in, it just simply goes black and does nothing. As it said in the cheat code directory, I tried the following codes..
# boot: knoppix vga=0
# boot: knoppix acpi=off pnpbios=off noapic noapm
# boot: knoppix vga=0 debug -b 3
# boot: failsafe debug -b 3
First three made no difference, still had the same problem. Failsafe allowed it to atleast show me something. It should the x window system loading, but it was all distorted and garbled, but I could tell it was doing what it was supposed to.
