Transferring settings from KNOPPIX to other linux versions

Im new to linux and have tried some other versions Red hat, SUSE. I never was able to get them set up though. This version is different though it boots up with my sound, network, and video drivers all installed and working perfectly
My question is, is there a way to transfer the configuration into my other versions of linux to get them to run.
Thank you all for your help

Verifying of md5 checksum and burning a CD at slow speed are important.

    certainly in part.
    atleast with a Debian install.
You most certainly will get them working without Knoppix with a bit of tinkering.
    what exactly is the problems?
the Xwindow environment settings are in /etc/X11/Xorg.conf or /etc/X11/Xfree86.conf (depending on distribution)
the Sound drivers? should be pretty much the same regardles of distribution, what exactly was the problem there?
as to network... what do you need?
