Hello to all.....

Hello all, i would just like to say that i am glad to be on this new forum and hope to learn much!

My name is Kenny, i work for a local city and am a "IT Network System Support" employee.
What got me onto knoppix? Well a year ago, i was given the cd for free by a friend who is in depth with linux. I never used it, but i remember stating "This CD can overpower windows like crazy." So i just grabbed it for fun.

3 days ago, i was in a situation which i couldnt retrieve data off of a computer, looking in my CD booklet - i saw "Knoppix 3.7" and it just made sense to boot onto a CD based OS to see if i could complete the job in which i was attempting to do.

15 minutes later ...............the job was complete.

I fell in love with knoppix and i want to learn what else i can do with it and how it will benefit me in my field.
Im primarily a Windows/Mac guy. But im willing to learn a lot about linux and knoppix as well.

However, i am a bit confused with some of the stuff i see on the screen, can anyone link me to a intro tutorial or something of that nature to get my feet wet. Also, what are some other benefits with knoppix BESIDES just data recovery!?!?!? (this is something im defiently looking to get answered)

Start with the wiki, found by using the Documentation link near the top of this page. There are also some free "Books" available, you can find links to them near the top articles in the News Forum.

yes, that how the knoppix spreads, its like STD's except fun...

I fell in love with knoppix and i want to learn what else i can do with it and how it will benefit me in my field.

as i always say, its a great tool to dabble into linux and try stuff without recking your computer too much (it is possible, me computer doesnt want to boot up any more, its just there for decoration).
