Linux locate command doesn't recognize /mnt

Hello. On my system I have no hard disk, just a USB flash drive mounted as /mnt/sda1. The Linux locate command does not return any directories or files form the /mnt branch of the hierarchy. In fact the command "locate mnt" returns nothing. I tried doing "updatedb" and got lots of error messages. Any ideas?

I don't do a lot with USB drives.

You might try a df command in a terminal window. It should show the mount point.

Otherwise you might browse the /proc file system. They are text files and have a lot of detail on the system and what is is doing and where.
