XFree86
Xorg
I hear that the newest version of knoppix is using Xorg instead of XFree86, so which is better? Xorg, or XFree86 & why, also what is the different between the two?

XF86 is like ultramega deprecated. Plus it's license is lame to the max.
Howdy,
I know this is the Lounge, but as it's an xorg related thread, thought it wouldn.t hurt to much.
A "help Q" diversion ....
Has anyone tried building the modularised Xorg v7.x using debs build scripts (rules) yet.
I like to get src from other places, any places, usually mag discs due to 56k and finances. So it can involve a little juggling at the best of times.
I'm currently using 6.8.2 with smirfed later sources ... but the recent v7.x i got a hold of, and then a subsequent visit to ftp.debian.org was a bit scary. Such a sequence/dependancy tree to work out
So i thought maybe some one might have a hint in this direction.

to dvryknopper;
So then the information on the 5.0.1 cheatcode is deprecated?

It works.... but the XFree system itself is deprecated. Sorted the old way of doing things..
