What is difference between Knoppix, Kanotix, Slax and PCLin

What is difference between Knoppix, Kanotix, Slax and PCLinuxOS. I know there are lots of Linux live Cds, among them, above mentioned are very famous. But I wonder what is difference between them. As far as I know some are small in size other are big, only one big advantage I see is that Knotix has ntfs-captive (but Ihave not used Knatix yet). Knoppix 4, I have used but has no ntfs-captive, so it cannot write to ntfs partition(file).
Anybody know anything more please do share.....
    Thanks

Most people try a few and then fix on one (or more!) for a HD installation. That's where I am with a Kanotix 2005-04 install. It's easly to install, appears to find all the hardware I've thrown at it, has a great forum, primarily debian unstable based, problems with upgrades fixed almost at once. From the Knoppix forum, it appears to be a primarily a liveCD with a community working mainly in that mode. 5.0.1 may be different, but HD install is not usually recommended.

There's an interesting thread in the Kanotix forum which asks the question "If there were no Kanotix, which would you choose?". The thread outlines pros / cons of various flavours of Linux. PCLinux appears to be second favourite.

    askme:

It is generally not a good idea to write to an NTFS partition with any form of Linux. At least not yet. I know it is claimed that Version 5.0.1 can, but it remains to be seen. There have been too many instances of corrupted files, partitions, etc, to ignore. Using Linux to write to an NTFS partition that contains any data you wish to keep is not a good idea. If you need a tool that can read/write to an NTFS partition, try looking up BartPE.
