    Saving settings to a URL?

Would it make sense to create a cheatcode like:
    knoppix myconfig=http://mysite.com/home.tgz
which would enable one to save/restore settings from a web site where they have read/write access? Of course, it would ask you the username and password of the user and transfer the file via scp.

To make it really work, you would have to have the ability to save your settings too.

Rather than a compressed file, it mounts your home directory over nfs or better yet, something encrypted like scp ( although i don't know how it would mount it )

It would be perfect for taking on a holiday.

To save settings, an additional option would be created under the knoppix "save configuration" menu that would allow the entry of the URL to save settings to instead of the drive
