This thread illustrated a problem with saved configs being able to write over data saved in a persistent home. I don't know if this problem still exists, but if it does it ought to be fixed.
One way might be that if persistent home is being used, then data coming from configs.tbz that would go anywhere under /home is simply tossed in the bit bucket.
There are probably better ways, but the storage of the same data in two places is asking for trouble...
Of course I may completely misunderstand this issue!
