No Gui interface

My Dell 4300 has no video during the GUI lauch of knoppix. I hear the "Initiating startup sequence" audible, but that is it.

Any Ideas ?

If you would please direct your eyes to the upper right hand corner of your screen. There you'll likely find your answers. The home page, FAQ and DOCS are all excellent reads as well. I can't recommend then enough.

try pressing ctrl-alt-+ and see if that helps... this causes the xserver to change to a different resolution. as linux may be trying to use an invalid resolution / refresh rate combo that is not compatible with your setup.
