Where are application data saved in Knoppix 4.0.2?

Could anyone shed some light on the subject matter? In particular I need to find the directory in which the bookmarks for Firefox are saved in order to replace the existing bookmarks file with a more extensive one from a WinXP installation. Can anyone help?

I'm not really sure of what you're trying to do. Anyway, the firefox directory can be found by just click on the 'home' icon, and select 'View' at the top of the window and click on 'Show hidden files'.

You'll see .mozilla directory listed. Inside it will be firefox. And if u explore further, you'll find bookmarks.html

I am fairly sure there is a bug with permissions on some files that means these mozilla configs have the wrong permissions and fail to get saved as they normally would with saveconfig.

I believe there is a work around posted which needs a simple chmod command before your quit.

IIRC the files are in /usr/share/local .
