    cloop on Mandrake 9.1

    I get:

    /lib/modules/misc/cloop.o: unresolved symbol filp_open
    /lib/modules/misc/cloop.o: unresolved symbol blk_cleanup_queue
    /lib/modules/misc/cloop.o: unresolved symbol devfs_mk_dir
    /lib/modules/misc/cloop.o: unresolved symbol end_that_request_last
    /lib/modules/misc/cloop.o: unresolved symbol end_that_request_first
    /lib/modules/misc/cloop.o: unresolved symbol filp_close
    /lib/modules/misc/cloop.o: unresolved symbol do_generic_file_read
    /lib/modules/misc/cloop.o: unresolved symbol blk_dev
    /lib/modules/misc/cloop.o: unresolved symbol blk_init_queue
    /lib/modules/misc/cloop.o: unresolved symbol mem_map
    /lib/modules/misc/cloop.o: unresolved symbol devfs_register_blkdev

when I try to load the cloop module. The build process doesn't indicate anything wrong.
    Any ideas?

Maybe try "Debian" or "Knoppix" instead of mandrake!!

You could be using an old version of the kernel, and maybe you need to enable devfs support in your config. You could always use the Knoppix Kernel instead of the mandrake one. I have compiled it fine with a vanila kernel as well.

    Could be a) mandrake's kernel, or b) mandrake's compiler.

    Cloop.o V2.0

I was running Mandrake 8.2, I recently upgraded my kernel to 2.4.24-xfs, remastering was a bitch when I got to the "cloop.o", I was using cloop-0.68... I never got to boot from my CD-rom after ceveral compilings iso burnings!

Then I compiled cloop-v2.0 on kernel 2.4.24-xfs, inserted in the "miniroot.gz/modules" and Everything turned out fine! :P

    Output in syslog : v0.68
Feb 3 16:42:25 dth kernel: cloop: Welcome to cloop v0.68
Feb 3 16:42:25 dth kernel: cloop: Please specify compressed filename as argument 'file=/path/to/file'.

    Output in syslog : v2.00
Feb 3 17:42:52 dth kernel: cloop: Initializing cloop v2.00
Feb 3 17:42:52 dth kernel: cloop: loaded (max 8 devices)

    Works fine now!
