NETCARDCONFIG fixed my connection problems
Newly returned to linux after a few year absence. Knoppix seems to work fine on my laptop however could not get it to connect wirelessly or or hardwired. Run "netcardconfig" and let it do it's thing. It will now connect flawlessly everytime with cat5 or wireless. I had the same problems as others. Could connect to router but not internet. Anyway's if I switch from one to other just run netcard config again and all is good
