    random boots

when ever put my knoppix cd and boot it some times it says that the knoppix file system was not found and that its dropping me to a very limited shell, but then it just starts up fine, has this happened to anyone else and does anybody know how to fix it?

I strongly suspect that you burnt that disk at high speed rather than the recomended low speed burn. But even then I've not seen reports here of such and error and then the disc continuing to boot properly without retrying. Could also be poor quality media, dirty optics or even a need to boot with the nodma option.
Verifying of md5 checksum and burning a CD at slow speed are important.
