Ok if I unplug the winxp drive and switch the cable I can see the Ubuntu drive, but now my usb drive is not working, I get the following error:

    Cannot mount the device

    The reported error was:

Mount: I could not determine the filesystem type and none was specified.

    Any ideas?

    Could you post:

    PC manufacturer, cpu, etc.

    Version of knoppix.

Output of fdisk -l, in either configuration.

Posting the output of: dmesg, would take up a lot of space here, but have a look and post anything thgat might relate to the problem.
