Huge fonts on Acer laptop after booting.
Greetings friends.
My laptop is an Acer Aspire 3610 featuring an Intel Celeron M 1.6GHz and GMA 900 graphics accelerator.
The problem is when the boot process of the Knoppix 5.3.1 DVD is finished and being in KDE enviroment the screen fonts are HUGE in that way i can't do anything at all.
Imagine when pressing the K button the menus are filling the whole screen and all i can see is some huge letters which stand for the menu options.
The same thing happens to taskbar fonts as well as with the right click menu.
I also tried another window manager such as Icewm but the problem persists.
The problem doesn't appear when i boot with Knoppix 5.1 CD.
Any ideas ?
Thank you in advance.

Huge fonts on Acer laptop after booting.
I'm casting my lot in with alex76gr and advising of fact that I am experiencing the the exact situation that he describes.
Namely, version 5.3.1. DVD boots to the KDE which is displayed in huge fonts (no exaggeration) and renders the system unusable.
I do this to encourage the appreciation that the event is not a solitary one and hope that help will be forthcoming.

Same problem for me with LG (S1-P151B) laptop (ATI Radeon X1600, Intel Core 2 T7200, 2GB Ram).
Here are two screenshots I somehow managed to take and save.

(booted with "knoppix fb1280x800 desktop=kde dma lang=es"; same error with default boot).
This is a critical error! Please do look into it.

Oh, I forgot. Might have to do with it, might not. I'm reporting it just in case. When shutting down, the screen is broken. Check these two images:

I had the same problem with my HP a6030 Desktop PC with Intel 82945G Express Display Adapter and HP vp17 LCD Monitor. After lot of googling, I figured out that it could be due to incorrect DPI detected by Knoppix. xdpyinfo gave resolution as 963x963 dots per inch. Now I am able to fix this by adding DisplaySize 375 260 under Monitor Section in my /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and then restarting the X server. Is there any cheatcode which can directly set this for me? As alex76gr has said, the problem does not occur for me with Knoppix 5.1 CD.[/i]

OErjan,
None of these helps to change the dpi. I am not talking about the Screen resolution here.
