Root Access problems

With numerous trial and error, I have managed to install Knoppix onto a new dell Optiplex. I need to connect to a wireless connection (which is already set-up), and for me to do that it says that I must type in the root password. What the? I never set one in the first place and have entered all obvious passwords to be pre-set. Is there anyway to set a new password, or get pass this?

Click on Kmenu
KNOPPIX
SET ROOT PASSWORD

then you have the password


once you are finished playing around reset it to something really hard to crack that you can remember.
