Captive NTFS
Trying to recover files from unbootable XP harddisk to another harddisk (both NTFS) using the Koppix V3.9 cd however I do not get the Captive NTFS choice in Knoppix Utilities submenu. Is there something I am not doing in order to enable Captive NTFS
Thanks a lot

Captive never did work right and ended destroying a lot of data. I suggest that you try some other approach, such as saving files to a FAT formatted device or across a network (using Knoppix Konquror as an FTP client and transferring to a FTP server set up on another system on the network). Knoppix has been able to read NTFS safely since it's release, but writing to NTFS does not turn out well.

Verifying of md5 checksum and burning a CD at slow speed are important.
