Some basic networking tools have been lost: telnet and dig

Easy: To me, with 6.X Knoppix has improved pretty much, except it also lost: on the field of diagnosis/forensics.
There is no more telnet client and no more dig. Both are essential for what we are doing with it. The package list is rather a shortened desktop machine than what it used to be: a toolbox.

Thanks for bringing some basic tools back!

    Uwe

Agreed. I couldn't even find ftp on 6.2.1 DVD! That ssh is used more and more instead of telnet isn't really a reason to leave it out. Should probably have a toolbox package list to ensure that the tool quality of Knoppix is upheld - it seems a bit random right now.
