PCLinuxOS forum on LXDE
.
Here's a PCLinuxOS forum concerning LXDE:
http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index...nk5&board=76.0
For example, there is link to a very nice pdf at:
http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index...c,88083.0.html
Also, some German is ge-spoken there.

ps
After spending a few days on their forums,
I can say it's not particularly friendly to newcomers.
Especially if you need a fact or two to get their OS perking.
The OS itself is first rate, with an exceptional wifi management.
Its handling of LibreOffice is not as efficient as Knoppix's,
but this would only affect byte-misers like myself.
Their forum is active, but a bit hyped for my taste.
Texstar, the author of PCLinuxOS is often part of the discussion;
not the hyped part, of course.

This is a small update on the PCLinuxOS distro and forums.
The forum is as active and unfriendly as reported earlier.
Don't expect a lot of help unless Texstar, the developer
answers your posts.
I have made a pretty good 2 Gb LiveUSB version of PCLinuxOS,
including LibreOffice, starting with the 11.06-LXDE-mini
version LiveCD. The USB install, with persistence is a
little fatter than Knoppix 6.4.4 but there is a lot of
substance for that: this includes more complete versions
of LibreOffice and the LXDE/PCManFM suite of programs.
And the network mgmt for Broadcom wifi is as good as it gets.
Intel video seems to be the only orphan I've personally
found in PCLinuxOS. I solved a resolution problem in KDE
only to find that solution won't work in LXDE. My complaint
is minor when compared to a clamor by others over sundry
alleged Intel/xorg video performance shortcomings.
For those with more real estate and courage than I,
PCLinuxOS has two really interesting features that might
be of interest. One is a menu choice call mylivecd,
which produces a remastered iso from a LiveCD session of
additions and subtractions of programs using Synaptic.
The other is a program which brings in Oracle's VirtualBox
via Synaptic.
