Copying, and burning DVD's . Please Read.

Ok, let me ask in this angle.

I have a couple of machines running Knoppix in my home, and I REALLY dont want none of my visitors, kids, or wife using DVD copy right ripping software. Software used to per say rip copy right protected movies so that it can then be burned onto another DVD.

So just in case all of these knoppix novices who use my machines were to put such software on my machines, and being I too am very knoppix ignorant (New to the OS).

Which programs can do this should I look out for on my machines so that I can remove them should I find such software? They would probably want to use the easiest, and highest quality ripping software solution so it would be those applications of most interest that I would like to make sure never gets installed on my computers.

Any help would be very much appreciated.. very very much

I think that you should search for "dvd backup Linux" utilities.

In the forum at "Doom9.net - The definitive DVD backup resource" you will find a thread "A place to get started (application links)" which could guide you to some popular applications.

Sometimes it is possible to use a special library which will enable a legal application to circumvent copy protection. In my country it is strictly prohibited to use any technique which can break a copy protection even if the protection is weak. Thus those libraries a illegal and may not be distributed.
