Hi everyone,

recently my HDD on my Pavilion DV6500 died and as a last resort i thought i should try Knoppix LiveCD to backup whatever i can.
The CD/DVD tray in the notebook is not working so im using a bootable DOK to load up knoppix.
The problem is that when i boot from the DOK, a "Windows Boot Manager" shows up telling me:

"Windows failed to start. A recent Hardware or software change might be the cause. to fix the problem...
File:\Boot\BCD
Status: 0xc0000098
Info: The Windows Boot Configuration Data file does not contain a valid OS entry."

when im not trying to boot from the DOK nothing happens (im stuck in a black screen with that prompt thingy)

I should note that i formatted the USB and made it bootable using EasyBCD and then i mounted Knoppix version 6.7.1 iso to a virtual drive and then copied all of the content of that drive to the USB.

I should also note that when i tried downloading Knoppix i only downloaded the .iso file and not all of the other .iso.md5, .iso.md5.asc, .iso.sha1, .iso.sha1.asc files....

What am i doing wrong?
Thanks
