lxpanel 0.5.8-3 (debian-knoppix) is now in the repos.

    .
I haven't found the announcement yet, but it at least solves the
missing menu in panels at the top of the desktop screen.

KK has been made aware of the 'freeze on LO close' problem and
current Mandriva efforts to address that as well. That MAY also be
in this offering, but then our -3 won't jibe with Mandriva's -4,
if that's the case. I'm not sure they need to agree, either.

    And, Seasons Greetings.

    Changelog details

    .
For those that can understand changelogs (I disqualify myself),
the following details are hereby provided concerning lxpanel 0.5.8-3 (debian-knoppix):

Klaus took the complete November 1, 2011 Mandriva lxpanel 0.5.8-4-mdv RPM source package,
with all patches mentioned in its changelog, added his own battery-applet-patch and wrapped
this combination into a Debian package, lxpanel 0.5.8-3-debian-knoppix

The Changelog for the Mandriva fork, which has (at least) a treatment to solve the
lxpanel-freeze-on-LO-file-close problem, may be found at:
    http://pkgs.org/mandriva-2011/mandri...html#changelog

    Klaus's battery-capacity-patch is described at:
    http://osdir.com/ml/general/2011-08/msg10192.html

Somewhere in Klaus's combination, the missing-menu-for-lxpanel-at-screen-top problem is also cured.
