I never tested to remaster Knoppix DVD with kn-remaster
Now I did it and found, it doesn't work without enough RAM; the new '/opt/knx/KNOPPIX/KNOPPIX' will not be created. Therefore the ISO gets the wrong size.

Next time I'll test it on a not virtual machine with 4GB RAM in a separate partition.

Also with "kn-recombine" and Knoppix DVD flash disk installation you need a lot of RAM and a not virtual machine.

Im starting over with clean /opt. Start KN Remaster, Prepare env. I get a message I assume is ok, mount block dev /dev/sr0 is write protected, mounting read only. ( this should be fine since sr0 is the DVD drive) Next message Copy CD ISO, ( Im concerned about this message due to this being a DVD ) , Next message, Gunzip Initial Ram-disk, 4774 blocks, mount block device /dev/cloop0 is write protected, mounting read only. (not sure if this is ok)

    Solved.

In the meantime I have had contact with the OP per email. The problem is solved. The new version of "kn-remaster" can also handle with Knoppix DVD.

I used it in a separate partition of 30 GB on my Laptop with 4 GB RAM, not only with Knoppix but also with Knoppix64 HD installation. It also works in a VirtualBox using 2 GB for the host.

    Greetings Werner

Since Solved now its very easy to make your custom ISO using CD or DVD.
    Step 1, boot from iso.
    Step 2, Install to hd.
    Step 3, reboot into hd.
    Step 4, make your changes.
    Step 5, install kn-remaster script.
    Step 6, run kn-remaster.
Follow kn-remaster steps by prompts on screen in order.
