knoppix 7 but it is in German how do I get it in English and want to install to hdd will I be able to choose the language

I would suggest that you read the documentation knoppix-cheatcodes.txt in the KNOPPIX directory of the CD or DVD.

There are two versions of the 7.0.4 DVD available on the servers. The one with DE in the filename uses german as the default language whereas the two letters EN indicate the english language version.
