Based on a suggestion from utu, I have added support for .gz files. You can now attach .gz files to posts.
The maximum size allowed is 250K as I felt it would cover most situations, but please let me know if there's a specific requirement for a larger size.
The above covers individual attachments. There is also an upper ceiling / limit to the total storage space allowed each user.
For regular users of this site the total allowance for attachments has now been increased by a factor of 10 so you shouldn't normally run out of attachment space. Please drop me a PM if you do.
