using preferences - KDE System Settings - Input Devices - Keyboard on Knoppix 7 with Linux 3.6.11 and KDE SC Version 4.3.4. I added the Belgian Layout and removed the US one. Nevertheless the layout persists as US. Formerly this always worked on prefious Knoppixes. Any help ??
