Notes concerning Windows 8 which may concern some Linux users

    .
For my Knoppix friends who might use Windows ntfs partitions, these two articles
concerning Windows 8 may be of interest.

Concerning what Klaus K calls a 'glitch' in Knoppix 705, specifically:
    http://lists.debian.org/debian-knopp.../msg00003.html

A more general note explaining what's going on in Window 8:

Thanks, utu - this is troubling news, indeed, and good to know for sure. I have gotten myself into a peck of trouble with this exact type of situation, and made bad problems worse when I didn't know what M$oft did to the partition before I got to it. It sounds like Klaus K. is on top of it, as usual, and we should probably see something like a revised version soon.

    Cheers!
    Krishna

Greetings, Krishna, nice to hear from you.

Klaus K has almost fixed this in 7.05 except for the 'glitch' he describes in
his debian-knoppix post. I think there will be a Knoppix 7.1 ready for CeBIT
in March, and probably then a 'community' version shortly thereafter.
