Did you started Teamviewer and told your friend via telephone or email the ID and password you can see within the Teamviewer window? Your friend has also to start Teamviewer and write in the ID and password, which you tell him.
Hi,
no in english, sorry Administrator,
I am using
KNOPPIX_V7.2.0DVD-2013-06-16-DE.iso
and a friend of mine needs to help me with an raid1 and lvm. I installed Teamviewer with gdebi which worked just fine.
It just doesn't seem to get internet.
Therefore I stopped the firewall, which helped me to connect to openssh-server, which I've started and changed the port.
So that's already good.
But teamviewer would be great, because we could see at the same time. What do I need to do to get teamviewer connected with the internet?
Thank you already,
Cheers
Hans

"no in english", should have been "now in english"...Please excuse my orthography...I've been rushed a little...
Just found out, that there is a kde remote-desktop working, but that is probably a little slow and I need to know, where i can adjust the ports...
As far as I see that is only good for local remote access from LAN. But I need remote screen sharing via internet (WAN).
Any ideas?
Thank you already, cheers
Hans
Hi Werner, teamviewer starts, but ist tells me it doesn't have internet.
I don't get to the point where it tells me my ID and the password. Teamviewer 9 does this only if it is already connected. Thank you very much!
Hello Hans,
Knoppix uses the NetworkManager to establish the internet connections; you can read all about this for example in the german Wiki of Ubuntu
http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/NetworkManager
http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Internetzugang
If this doesn't solve your problem you have to tell us more details about your equipment; Modem or Router. Lan or WLAN, error messages?
Hi Hans!
Teamviewer creates logfiles. I think the most important logfiles are in the directory /opt/teamviewer9/logfiles/knoppix. There you can find the file winelog.
In this logfile I read "err:secur32:SECUR32_initSchannelSP TLS library not found, SSL connections will fail". Maybe this is the reason for your issue. Most probably you have to find out which library is missing.
Always remember that Teamviewer is Windows program that runs inside Wine. Thus there are two possibilities. The first one is you need a Linux system library, but which one? The second possibility is you need a Windows DLL, but how to find out?
