There are zillions of combinations to try. Some fifty recommended here I have tried with no luck (Advice given here is partly .....
Debugging gives the message "sh. cant access tty, job control turned off" ... "nano" or "pico" editors not found, but "cat" reads the logfiles ... ) This same problem is found in some twenty distros I tried in these days. Some detecting the display (wide svga) to be 1200x1600. Top-left corner only shown. Some trying to use "openchrome" driver. Does not work. Ordinary VESA works Contrary to several others distros Knoppix has good 3G modem connectivity. And runs silently from RAM without any installation Windows XP slowly dying, a live-Linux running from RAM would be THE solution ! Old programs and doduments retained, just web browsing in Linux BTW there shoulld be a discussion devoted solely to "blank screen" problems
