I have recently installed Knoppix 7.2 to my laptop. All worked fine. I installed a couple of things then marked all upgrades in synaptic. This failed and now I cannot install anything and get errors. I trawled the forum and saw a comment that you should not try to upgrade the installed packages. Can someone tell me if it is wrong to do the upgrade, if so why and how do I fix it please.
