Audio quirk in Knoppix 7.4.2 (and 7.3) DVD(s). . .

Just received Knoppix 7.4.2 DVD and noted that it has the same quirk on bootup as 7.3 DVD in that when audio starts it produces a repeating click in audio output every second. In 7.3, I discovered I could click "Logout" and then the sound would stop and I'd click "Cancel" to return to Knoppix. Not so in 7.4.2 . . .Any help to alleviate would be much appreciated . . . You need to be briefer. Most other users won't bother with so much text.

The first thing anyone will want to know, after a *brief* description of your problem,
is, did you perform a checkdisk, or not. If you failed checkdisk, you have to re-do your installation
until it does pass. If it doesn't pass, there's no sense trying to diagnose its peculiarities.

Next thing you need to know is how to use the forum editor to help you create
some whitespace to make your text more accessible. Clues on how to use the editor
are there if you look for them. Don't expect a tutor on this aspect.
