    Ethernet not working

    I am using the latest Knoppix from a dvd and my ethernet connection is not even seen by the system

    Have a look in:
    Menu > System Tools > Network Tools

    What does this mean?
    Have you tried Firefox to use the internet? Is the network manager applet missing?
