It might be possible to write to your windows partition but I hear its dangerous.
Well, I can access my windows partition and can copy items from it to my knoppix partition - but I cannot write to the windows partition - any suggestions - I think I have all the permissions etc right (its set at write, not read the windows partition that is).

Only if you are using NTFS. Otherwise it if fine.Originally Posted by silkodyssey
Peterobe, I presume you have installed knoppix to your hd. When you do a hdinstall, your fstab is changed from what is available when you run from the cd.
Assuming you are using vfat and not ntfs, open /etc/fstab with a text editor (as root of course). Look for your windows partition (possibly hda1) and uncomment it (i.e. remove the # in front of that line). Save it and you should be good to go.
