My history:
Using the CDROM I couldn't get directly connected through eth0 using pppoe to
Verizon dsl using two different computers. So I bought a D-LINK wireless router and manually configured eth0 appropriately (BTWHCP failed again) and wah-lah, I am in.
Using my Sotec laptop I have installed (using the PCMCIA slot) a D-LINK DCF-660w CF card which works beautifully in my Sharp Linux Zaurus handheld. It uses the Prism 2
chipset, if I am not mistaken, and the wlan_ng driver(?).
During the boot process the card seems to be detected but "pump" operation fails. No hardware address is assigned.
My problem: wlcardconfig says: No wireless network card found. Well, hell, Knoppix,
you just finished booting up and in the process told me the name of the card, the chipset, and the driver. Now you just decided not to see it afterall?? What gives??
And removing the card from the slot results in frozen OS.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
