    Removing hold for apt-get dist-upgrade

    Hey all,

Any idea how to remove the hold on these packages? I search the net and all they can say is use deselect, but deselect says they are not on hold.

The following packages have been kept back
    autotrace gconf2 gnome-control-center gnome-terminal gtetrinet jpilot jpilot-plugins krecord libbonoboui2-0 libbonoboui2-common
    libgail-common libgail17 libgconf2-4 libgnome2-0 libgnomecanvas2-0 libgnomeui-0 libgnomevfs2-common libgtk2.0-0 libpango1.0-0 libwnck4
    php4 xserver-common xserver-xfree86 yelp
The following packages will be upgraded

    Thank you for the help,

    Joshua SS Miller

They were kept back because upgrading them would mean new libs to be installed too.

    See apt-get upgrade -vs- apt-get dist-upgrade

--That's probably how I screwed up my 1st Knoppix install. I un-held them using aptitude, and got of bunch more updates that were likely unstable.
