Wine in V3.2-2003-07-26

Is there a way to get wine to work using knoppix V3.2-2003-07-26 when you don't have a windows installation to copy fonts from? Why is it that copying fonts is now required?

I just pulled some fonts from a M$Office disk. There was at one time a place to dl some true type fonts but M$ in an effort to torque off just a few more people has pulled it from the site.

Yes, but only for a hd install. Try what I advise here.
