Probably an easy question

I am trying to setup a CD rom that will be able to boot on multiple computers and without touching the HD, will be able to load X11 and use XDMCP to connect to my network's X11 server and use that as the X11 server. IE, basically running X -query 192.168.0.244. Can anyone help me attempt to do this? thanks!

Have you tried booting into an alternative runlevel. Couldn't you run knoppix 3 and then start X manually using whatever options you like? Just a thought. Otherwise you shouldn't have too much trouble remasting the cd to do what you want. Just read the remaster howto.
